Obituary

At age 88, of Monroeville, PA, peacefully passed away on January 18, 2021. Alice was the loving wife of George R. Witkovich for over 65 years and the loving mother of George W. (Tammy Cox). Alice was the daughter of Wilder C. and Maybelle W. Stickney of Penn Hills and Santa Monica, CA. She was the sister of the late Marjorie R. Meister (George) of Port Orange, FL and the late Dale M. Stickney of Sacramento, CA. Alice was a sister-in-law to Barbara Jessen of Kentfield, CA, Walter of Berwyn, IL and Ralph of Lafayette, CO. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins. Alice was talented in art, sewing, and gardening. While in high school, she entered a Pittsburgh art show and received an honorable mention. She continued to paint and do other art work during her lifetime. Her art work adorns the walls of her home. She taught art for several years at a Monroeville daycare. Alice began to make her own clothing in high school. She enjoyed going to a fabric store and selecting a pattern and material to make a dress, suit, or evening gown. She altered clothing for a niece and made clothes for her son. In later years, she became quite expert in designing and making quilts. Alice liked to garden: outside it was tomatoes, green peppers, and roses in pots, indoors a variety of house plants. She loved her cats, dogs, and turtles. Alice was a wonderful wife and mother and a lovely person.
