Walter Carothers

Age 66, of Shaler Twp., on Sunday, May 10, 2026, Walt was the beloved husband of Ellen Helsley Carothers; father of Jessica Lee (Brandon), Jamie Carothers; son of the late Robert and June Carothers; brother of Carolyn Sandulli, Marilyn Fabian, Robert C. Carothers Jr. (Margie); grandfather of Connor Lee.

Walt graduated from North Hills High School in 1978. He then joined the United States Air Force and was a Fire Fighter on the flight line, which brought him much pride. He was a member of the Glenshaw VFW Post 9199, Sharpsburg American Legion Post 106, Fraternal Order of Eagles Post 1634, and the Verona Moose Lodge 250. Walt loved to dance to country music with his beloved wife, and his day was always brightened by the smile of his grandson.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2026 at 12 Noon at the Jockey Club Hall, 1 Isabella St., Pittsburgh PA 15223. Arrangements made by Perman Funeral Home. The family respectfully suggests donations be made to VFW 9199 Auxiliary, 643 Wetzel Rd, Glenshaw PA 15116
