Loving husband and father, Ronald Joseph Ondrizek died on February 15, 2024.
He was born December 3, 1936 in Norvelt Pennsylvania to Evelyn Bridge and Lawrence Ondrizek.
Ronald served in the Army from 1956 through 1959. He worked at Eazor Express until 1982 and New Penn until his retirement in 1998. He was a talented carpenter, building a summer home and furniture for his family. He was a great mechanic, fixing hundreds of small engines for friends.
In his retirement, he volunteered for St. Vincent DePaul and was the president of St Vincent’s for a year. He was a Eucharistic Minister at St Mary of the Assumption Church for 25 years. He received the Manifest Kingdom Award through the Diocese of Pittsburgh in 2015 for his service St Mary’s Parish and Community.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He is preceded in death by his siblings Kathleen, Dolores, Elaine, Lawrence, Charles, Evelyn, Geraldine, Mary Louise, Regis, his first wife Renate (1969), and second wife Marian (2023). He is survived by son Charles (Cindy), son Walter, daughter Geraldine (Laurence), five grandchildren, JT, Renata, Dulcie, Klaus and Aden and two great grandchildren, Eli and Elena.
Celebrate Mr. Ondrizek's life with his family on Monday from 3-7 PM at PERMAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, INC., Shaler Twp. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of the Assumption Church on Tuesday at 10:30 AM. The family respectfully suggests donations be made to St. Vincent de Paul, C/O St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 2510 Middle Rd., Glenshaw PA 15116.
