Robert J. Bentz

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Robert Bentz on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at the age of 70. Bob grew up in Forest Hills, Pennsylvania. A 1973 graduate of Churchill Area High School, he went on to earn his degree in Accounting from St. Vincent College. He studied at Robert Morris University earning a Masters and a degree in computer programming.

A gifted student and a National Merit Semi-Finalist, Bob brought intelligence, precision, and dedication to everything he did. Throughout his career as an internal auditor and data specialist, he was known for his sharp analytical mind, strong work ethic, and quiet integrity.

Beyond his professional life, Bob enjoyed simple pleasures like golfing and bowling with friends. He was an avid reader, movie buff and had an intense interest in politics. When living in New York, he loved to watch the Yankees and attend concerts at Madison Square Garden. The oldest of five children, he was a devoted and protective big brother to his four sisters. His kindness extended to all members of his family, especially his beloved nieces and nephews, who adored his gentle humor and steady presence. He had a lifelong affection for the family’s many pets.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents Ronald and Mary Jane Bentz. He is survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law - Mary Lynn Foster (Jack), Barbara Staniscia (Jamie), Susan Ferguson (Mark), and Judy Bulazo (Steve); his nieces and nephews - Hallie Foster, Patrick Foster, Sean Ferguson (Liz), Josh Staniscia (Breanna), Tara Rivetti (David), Faley Bulazo, and Marina Bulazo; his great nephew and niece – Peter Rivetti and Lyla Ferguson; and many cousins.

Those who knew Bob will remember him for his thoughtful nature, dry wit, and genuine care for others. His legacy of warmth, loyalty, and love will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
