Maria Candida Febbraro Malta

Of Morningside, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 16, 2024 while surrounded by her family, Mrs. Malta was born March 21, 1935 in Maierato, Italy. She was the beloved wife of the late Bruno Malta; loving mother of Fiorenza Curigliano (Paolo), Elizabeth “Lisa” Valotta (Peter), Frank Malta (Reneè), and the late Nancy Varrasso (survived by Mauro) and Nicolantonio Malta; daughter of the late Francesco and Fiorenza Greco Febbraro; Nonna of Antonella De Iuliis (Eugenio), Maria Potdar (Rohan), Pietro Curigliano, Peter Valotta (Christen), Jessica Balestrino (Joseph), Pasquale Varrasso, Isolina Varrasso (Devin), Nicolantonio and Giuliana Malta; great-grandmother of Luciano, Desolina, Valentina, Mariana and Nancy De Iuliis; Ishaan and Roshan Potdar; Emma, Anna, Ava and Christopher Valotta; Marco, Maya and Raffaella Balestrino; Natalia and Logan Michalism; sister of Teresa Scolieri (late Antonio), Concetta Talotta (late Domenico), Francesco Febbraro (Pasqualina) and the late Fiorenza Liberto (late Paolo) and Giuseppina Scolieri (late Gregorio); also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Maierato, Italy and Pittsburgh.

Candida emigrated to Pittsburgh in 1976. She enjoyed traveling back to her home town with her husband, Bruno. Candida loved gardening, cooking and keeping Italian traditions. She loved going to church at St. Raphael’s and walking her Morningside neighborhood. Most of all, she loved her family.

Celebrate Mrs. Malta’s life with her family at Perman Funeral Home, 923 Saxonburg Blvd at Route 8, Shaler Township, on Wednesday and Thursday from 3-7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Jude Parish, St. Raphael Church on Friday at 10 AM.
