Jeffrey M. "Gert" Gerthoffer

Age 56, of Shaler Twp., on Saturday, August 22, 2026, Gert was the beloved father of Jessica Gerthoffer (Tom McGovern), Jason Gerthoffer (Margarita); son of the late Al and Carole Gerthoffer; brother of Deb Yator (Chuck), Al Gerthoffer (Kim), Bill Gerthoffer (Joan), Ron Gerthoffer (Pam), Kim Kearns; grandfather of Trevor McGovern, Levi Gerthoffer, Dominic McGovern; also survived by a shit-ton of nieces and nephews.

He was his grandson’s biggest fan, never missing a ball game. They spent numerous hours fishing with their “Greatest Pappy Gert”. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing on many softball teams over the years. His wit as effortless, always having a quick come back.

Celebrate Gert’s life with his family on Wednesday from 2-8 PM at Perman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 923 Saxonburg Blvd at Rt. 8, Shaler Twp. where Services will be held at 8 PM. The family respectfully suggests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis TN 38105.
