James M. Runatz

Of Shaler Township, on Friday, November 14, 2025, James 'Jim' Runatz, age 90,  was born in Clairton PA on December 12, 1934. He served two years in the Army and when he returned, he married the love of his life, Rose Marie Triglia Runatz in 1959. They were married for 66 years. He was the father of Beth Cellerini (John) and James Runatz (Linda); son of the late Michael and Kathryn Geletko Runatz; brother of Michael Runatz (Marlene) and the late Rodger Runatz; Pap of Michael Cellerini, Abbey Jones (Ryley) Rachel Runatz, Jenny Cellerini and JD Runatz; uncle of Seth Runatz brother-in-law of the late Frank Triglia (Mary Ellen) and Larry Triglia.

Jim was a math teacher at Clairton High School for three years. In 1967, the family moved to Shaler Township. James was an Engineering Instructor for the Westinghouse Corp. He loved all the Pittsburgh sports teams. His favorite was the Steelers. Jim was a season ticket holder and loved tailgating at every home game with a wonderful group of friends. He loved having family and friends over while spending hours enjoying their pool. He was always there for his family attending every event. He lived his life for his wife, children, grandchildren and friends. He will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.

Celebrate James’s life with his family on Monday from 3-7 PM at Perman Funeral Home, 923 Saxonburg Blvd at Route 8, Shaler Township. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Glenshaw on Tuesday at 10:30 AM. Please meet at Church.
