Carol E. Kane

Of Shaler Township, passed away at home, on December 27, 2025. Born on October 16, 1941, she loved theatre, cardmaking, reading, photography, and spending time with family. Carol, age 84, was happily married to John Kane for 62 years after meeting at a theatre camp. She worked as a church secretary for 19 years at McKnight Methodist and was an active member of Oaklands Presbyterian Church. Carol is survived by her husband, John; sister, Jane Borman (Ed), sisters-in-spirit, Debbie Mitchell and Joni Mainier; daughters, Christine (Pete Atkinson) and Stephanie (Bill Mainier); son-in-law, Jimmy Rohm; grandchildren, Alley Rohm, Schuyler Mainier and Jesy and Sara Littlejohn; great-grandchildren, Toby and Charlie; nephew, John Carpenter; and a gaggle of grand and great-grandnieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Charlotte and Burleigh Seaver; parents, Emilie and Olie Van Slate; uncle, Bill Seaver; brothers-in-spirit, Terry Mitchell and Vince Mainier; and nephew, Steven Carpenter. 

In keeping with her wishes, no public services will be held. The family appreciates your thoughts and support during this difficult time. Carol will be deeply missed. We take comfort that she is at rest today, held by the grace that carried her home. Arrangements by PERMAN FUNERAL HOME, 923 Saxonburg Boulevard, at Rt. 8, Shaler Township.
