Of Dorseyville, on Sunday, March 2, 2014, Mr. Metinko, 84, was the beloved husband of 53 years to Veronica M. Weiss Metinko; father of Joseph Metinko (Teresa) of Dorseyville; son of the late George and Anna Metinko; brother of Maryanna Taylor of Bradenton FL, David Metinko (Patricia) of Munhall and the late Evelyn Bodnar. Mr. Metinko was a Korean War Army veteran with the 101st Screaming Eagles. After his honorable discharge, he attended Duquesne University night school while working as a truck driver for Coca-Cola. He earned his BA in Business Administration. He worked his way to plant manager with Coca-Cola. After leaving Coke, he and two partners bought an HVAC-roofing company which he helped make into a thriving business.
Services and interment were private. Arrangements were by Perman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 923 Saxonburg Blvd at Rt. 8, Shaler Twp. His family respectfully suggests donations be made to Little Sisters of the Poor, 1028 Benton Ave, Pittsburgh PA 15212 or to the Wounded Warrior Project, 301 Grant St, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
