Carol A. (Biernesser) Smoller

Age 70, of King George, Virginia, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022 ending a brief struggle with brain cancer.

Carol was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and grew up in Glenshaw. She met her husband, Gary D. Smoller while visiting her cousin in East Liberty. Carol and Gary were married for 47 years. Carol retired from her Customer Service position at NSWC Federal Credit Union in 2015. The couple spent their retirement years traveling with friends and visiting their daughter and her family.

Carol was a devoted mother to Stephanie Marie Schwartz, loving grandmother to Collin James Schwartz, and proud mother-in-law to Kenneth Allen Schwartz. Carols survivors also include brother Paul Biernesser, his wife Kathy and sons Jason and Shane; sister-in-law Debbie Biernesser, and her children David, Melissa, Matt, Cindy, and Nate.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents Harold Biernesser and Mary B Gordon Biernesser; and her brother Thomas Biernesser.

Per Carols wishes, a funeral visitation will not be held. A graveside service will take place at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at Assumption Cemetery of Saint Mary, Glenshaw. Arrangements made by Perman Funeral Home.
