Of Shaler Township passed peacefully surrounded by her family on, Tuesday, November 19, 2013, Mrs. Reno, age 85, was the beloved wife of the late Robert M. Reno; mother of M. Lynn Reno of Ross Twp., Ruth A. Reno of Beaver PA and Dan M. Reno of Shaler Twp.; daughter of the late Merton C. and Catherine Moore Whitcomb, Sr.; sister of the late Merton C. Whitcomb Jr.; cherished Grandmother of Derek M., Max W. and Aaron R. Reno, all of Shaler Twp.; also survived by three nieces and one nephew and 7 great-nieces and nephews. A native of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Reno was a 1950 graduate of Duquesne University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Ann was the first woman to serve on the Shaler Township Planning Commission, a position she held for 8 years. Ann was a 45-year member of the Glenshaw Century Club, serving on the Wreaths and Arrangements Committee for the Club's Annual Christmas Bazaar each year. She was especially proud that group helped raise scholarship funds for local students to pursue higher education. She was also an active member of Glenshaw Players. A talented artist, she was known for her commitment to her family and community, her love of history and a good book and her fabulous pies.
Celebrate Mrs. Reno's life with her family on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Perman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 923 Saxonburg Blvd at Rt. 8, Shaler Twp. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Mary of the assumption Church, Glenshaw on Saturday at 10 AM. Family respectfully suggests donations be made to Glenshaw Public Library, 1504 Butler Plank Road, Glenshaw PA 15116.
